Poetry from the Farm
Last week we had an anonymous in-house haiku contest. There were some thoughtful and pastoral submissions as well as some humorous ones. In the end, because we are such team players here, everyone who submitted (and who tolerated or participated in our lunchtime dramatic readings) was rewarded handsomely. The following is a selection of the team's poetry:
River full and highLike a cucumber beetleA Beautiul threatThunderheads loomingRacing to plant the carrotsSeeds falling like rainOh worms deep inside,My, how they wriggle and writhe!Yes, happy exit. Here are summer's peak,Laugh and talk dirty to them; The goats are in heat.Tomato trellis;Eggplant blossoms among usKeep our spirits high.
